Sarah Small is an Academic Support Specialist II for the General Biology department. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Master’s from Texas Tech University, where she studied behavioral ecology. Her research focused on the differences in behavior of cane toad populations from both their native and introduced ranges. While in graduate school, she discovered her passion for research and teaching.
After graduate school, Sarah assisted with a field course at the University of Notre Dame’s Environmental Research Center and worked in various school systems in the Knoxville area. At UTK, Sarah provides assistance to General Biology courses including instructional support, laboratory preparation for introductory biology (BIOL 159), and teaching assistant observations.
She enjoys hiking and playing with her cats.
